Büren Khairkhan Uul. This mountain
is considered by locals to be inhabited by a powerful male spirit.

One of two deer stones located between
Büren Khairkhan Uul and Sogoo Khairkhan Uul, further up the valley.
The spirits of the mountains, one male and one female, are said
to meet at these stones.

Sogoo Khairkhan Uul is the lower
triangular mountain in the middle of the photo. It is thought
by locals to possess a female spirit.

The ridge seen here is the immense
moraine, at least a thousand feet high, which resulted in Khokh
Nuur. It was created by a glacier which originated in the cirque
shown above.
