Humayun's Tomb in Delhi
Humayun, son of the famous Babur, became emperor of India in 1530. He died on January 19, 1556, after a fall on the steps of his library. His wife Bega Begum was responsible for building his tomb, which was probably constructed around 1565. Humayun’s body was moved to the tomb in 1569. His wife is also buried here.

To the right of the walkway to Humayun's Tomb is the tomb complex of Ali Isa Khan, built in 1547-48. Isa Khan was the son of Niyaz Aghwan, the chief chamberlain of of the famous Sher Shah.
